The Roots

When my journey began eighteen years ago, accessible was not a term you would use to describe Witchcraft.

Growing up, I found myself in a predominantly Christian family and I struggled to find my path among these two seemingly separate worlds. I had an uncle who was a pastor. He told me, that to stray from the path of Christianity was to condemn myself to hell. I truly believe that this is what triggered the disconnect from my craft, and my spirituality.

I practiced in secrecy for some time before closing the door completely, to what felt like was my home.

High school was a dark time for me, internally. I had no faith and lost all connection to my craft, I left myself behind to become what I thought was politically and socially acceptable. After high school, I became a young mother who felt pressure to conform to the societal norms of parenting. As a result, I kept my true self hidden from the world, and overtime this became a detriment to my well-being.

After living over a decade of my life according to what I thought others expected of me, I said enough is enough. Thus began my radical self- discovery and self-love journey. I've spent the last four years actively stripping away all that I've accumulated, that does not resonate with me. In the pursuit of finding myself again, I rediscovered my craft, but through different eyes. Eyes that could appreciate the interconnectedness of our universe, the craft and my wellness.

For years, I have served as a useful source to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I founded The Witch From The North with a mission to make Witchcraft accessible for everyone willing and interested in learning; and I have been at it ever since.
